Hard to believe it is fall already! I don’t know about you, but for me it feels like I blinked and summer was here and gone. A couple noteworthy things occurred in that blink, including lots of Ford Scholar goodness.
I was honored to welcome the Class of 2011 to the Ford Scholar Alumni Association at their concluding leadership conference in June.
Not long after in July, it was amazing to see the current Scholars at their leadership conference, run karaoke for them, engage in some good networking of Scholars and alumni, and get to chip around some golf balls before grabbing some grub with fellow alumni.
I want to extend a huge thank you to the alumni who attended the alumni meet and greet at Eagle Crest with the current Scholars and the alumni meetup social activities. For the second year of the event, it was pretty phenomenal to see the number in attendance double. The feedback from the current Scholars was all very positive, and they’re excited to do it again next year. Their one request is to meet and network with EVEN more alumni. I think that is a good place to be.
Mark your calendars now, alumni, to make the Scholars’ dreams of meeting you come true: July 16, 2016, at Salishan Resort near Lincoln City.
I’m sure that with another blink it will be that time again, so reserve that weekend for some family-friendly and Scholar-supporting fun!
